Panerai Radiomir 1940 Series 3-day Power Reserve Display Two Time Pam00658 Watch

The Radiomir 1940 series launched four new models of watches, which not only brings a variety of creative dial options for Panerai watch lovers, but also is equipped with multiple functions to meet different needs. The two self-winding mechanical movements are completely independently developed by Panerai’s watch factory in Neuchâtel. The Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Automatic watches (PAM00627 and PAM00657) are equipped with the P.4001 movement and the Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic watches (PAM00628 and PAM00658) are equipped with P.4002 movement, adding more new features to the new model.

Both the P.4001 and P.4002 movements were developed on the basis of the P.4000 self-winding mechanical movement. The main technical characteristics are the same: the eccentric oscillating weight can swing in both directions, and with two connected barrels, it ensures that Power reserve for up to three days. The movement is equipped with special devices, which can suspend the balance wheel when adjusting the time to ensure accurate timing. And equipped with a double-supported balance wheel plywood makes it more stable. The two new movements are also equipped with extremely useful new features: date display, dual time display (the central hand indicates the time in the second time zone), 24-hour display with small seconds (the first time zone) and power reserve display. The only difference between the P.4001 and P.4002 movements is the display of the power reserve.

The circular power reserve display of the P.4001 movement is located on the movement splint, while the P.4002 movement arranges the power reserve display at 5 o’clock on the dial. The new movement is also equipped with two extremely useful devices that make the time adjustment of the watch more convenient and accurate: the first device stops the balance wheel and resets the second hand to zero when the crown is pulled out. The second device can control the hour hand to adjust forward and backward independently every hour when adjusting the local time, without disturbing the minute hand or affecting the operation of the watch, and can automatically adjust the date.

Each new Radiomir 1940 watch is equipped with the characteristics of a Panerai watch. It pays attention to the readability of the dial, which is clear and easy to read under normal light or dark night. The classic extra-large bar and digital hour-markers are covered with Super-LumiNova®, and the two dials have their own unique design, one with clou de Paris and the other with straight relief, making the date Functions such as display, small seconds and power reserve display are conspicuous and easy to read on the black dial. The two dials each have different straps: a Paris studded dial with a black leather strap, and a straight relief dial with a brown primary leather strap.

The design of the Radiomir 1940 case faithfully presents the classic model designed by Panerai for the Italian Navy commando in the 1940s. It is made of polished AISI 316L steel and has a water resistance of 10 bar (about 100 meters).
