Chanel Specially Made Premiere Tourbillon Watch Helps 2013only Watch Charity Auction
In order to support the 2013 Only Watch charity auction, Chanel specially customized a ‘Première Flying Tourbillon’ floating tourbillon watch.
Chanel’s watchmaking ideas are derived from a series of iconic symbols that Chanel cherishes. These far-reaching symbols represent the core of Chanel’s creation, and they are matched by the simple shapes, concise colors and innovative materials in the works.
The Première watch, the first watch launched by Chanel in 1987, is the best interpretation of this extraordinary creativity. The octagonal dial of this watch is inspired by the outline of the Fontaine Square, while echoing the shape of the bottle cap of N ° 5 perfume.
In 2012, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chanel’s first watch, Chanel launched the “Première Flying Tourbillon” floating tourbillon watch, which opened the mysterious world of complicated mechanical watches for ladies. This remarkable tourbillon is the result of close collaboration between Chanel and designers, engineers and watchmakers from Renaud & Papi (APRP SA), the advanced research and development department of Audemars Piguet.
Chanel’s ‘Première Flying Tourbillon’ floating tourbillon watch won the ‘Best Women’s Watch’ at the 12th GPHG Awards Ceremony held last year.
